AI Visibility Checker
Find out if ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews can reach, read and recommend your business, and get the exact fixes. Free, no sign-up, results in under a minute.
What the checker looks at
Twelve checks in three groups, each with the evidence we found and how to fix it.
Access
- Secure connection (HTTPS)
Search engines favor secure pages, and browsers warn visitors away from insecure ones.
- Search and AI crawlers allowed
Each AI assistant reads the web with its own crawler. If your robots.txt blocks that crawler, the assistant cannot use your pages in its answers.
- Indexing allowed (no noindex or nosnippet)
Google only shows a page in AI Overviews and AI Mode if it can appear in search with a snippet. A noindex or nosnippet directive removes it.
- Content readable without JavaScript
The OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity crawlers read the HTML your server sends. They do not run JavaScript, so content drawn in the browser is invisible to them.
Understanding
- Business identity in structured data
Organization or LocalBusiness markup gives machines your official name, logo, contacts and social profiles, so they do not confuse you with someone else.
- Title, description and language
These are the first lines machines read about a page. Search snippets and AI answers often reuse them.
- Clear about who, what and where
AI assistants match businesses to questions like “best dental clinic in Douala”. If your homepage never says what you do or where, you will not be matched.
- Headings that structure the page
Clear headings help AI systems find the right passage to quote when they answer a question.
- XML sitemap
A sitemap lists your pages, so crawlers find new and updated content faster.
- llms.txt (optional)
A proposed file that summarizes your site for AI tools. No major AI search engine has confirmed using it, so we do not score it.
AI knowledge
- Gemini knows your business
An assistant that already knows you can describe and recommend you. That knowledge comes from what is written about you across the web.
- Gemini recommends you
Being named when someone asks for the best option in your category is the goal of AI search optimization.
How the score works
40
Access
HTTPS, robots.txt rules for 14 search and AI crawlers, noindex or nosnippet directives, and how much of your page is readable without JavaScript.
25
Understanding
Organization or LocalBusiness structured data, title and description, whether your homepage says who you are, what you do and where, headings and sitemap.
35
AI knowledge
Whether Gemini knows your business from its own knowledge, and whether it names you when asked for the best options in your category.
llms.txt is reported but not scored: no major AI search engine has confirmed using it.
What it can and cannot tell you
- It checks your homepage in depth, not every page of your site.
- The Gemini test uses the model’s own knowledge without web search. Answers vary between runs and between assistants, so treat them as a signal.
- No outside tool can measure your exact position inside ChatGPT or Perplexity answers. This checker measures the things that decide it: access, clarity and reputation.
Questions about AI visibility
What is AI visibility?
It is how easily AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews can find your business, understand what it does, and mention or recommend it when people ask for help.
Should I block GPTBot?
Blocking GPTBot only stops OpenAI from using your pages to train its models. It does not remove you from ChatGPT search, which uses a different crawler, OAI-SearchBot. Block training crawlers if you want to; keep the search crawlers allowed.
Why does the checker test Gemini?
Every assistant learns from the web, so if Gemini does not know you, the others often do not either. The technical checks cover what ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google and Bing need to read your site.
Do I need an llms.txt file?
No. It is a proposal, and no major AI search engine has confirmed using it. It does no harm, but crawler access, readable content and a clear business identity matter far more.
How do I improve my score?
Fix the items in “Fix these first”: allow the search crawlers, make your content readable without JavaScript, add Organization or LocalBusiness markup, and say plainly what you do and where. Then earn mentions and reviews so assistants learn who you are.
Do you store my information?
We fetch your public pages to run the check. We do not store your website address or business name. We keep anonymous statistics (the score, each check’s result and the domain extension, such as .cm) to improve the tool, and Gemini’s answers for 24 hours so repeated checks are fast.
