ABOUT THE ARTIST

Tyla Yaweh is an American singer, rapper, and songwriter originating from Orlando, Florida. He is known for singles such as “She Bad”, “Gemini”, “Drugs and Pain” and “Wildlife”. Tyla Yaweh is currently signed to Epic Records and London Entertainment (which is also home to Post Malone).

Yaweh was born Tyler Jamal Brown on May 31, 1995, in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Yaweh originally supported himself as a drug dealer, while holding a job at the local Dunkin’ Donuts near his residence in Florida as a cover for his income’s origins. After his mother discovered that he sold drugs, he was kicked out of the house and was on his own. He packed a car with three of his friends and all of his belongings and drove out to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams of being a rapper. Post Malone and Dre London eventually noted Yaweh’s charisma and he went on to sign to their label London Entertainment.

In 2017, Yaweh toured with XXXTentacion on the Revenge tour. He had multiple performances at Rolling Loud. His breakout single “Drugs and Pain” was released in November 2017 by London Entertainment. The track was produced by XL and the supporting music video directed by Ryan Silverstein. The year 2018 saw the release of the singles “Wildlife”, “Gemini” and “Goals”, featuring Preme. All three tracks performed well, achieving millions of streams across Spotify, YouTube and SoundCloud.

Yaweh performed at the 2018 SXSW and Made in America festivals. He appeared on a 2018 episode of Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Showwhere the two had a rap battle. The single “She Bad” was released in October 2018. It was produced by Bizness Boi. The music video achieved 2.8 million views in its first seven weeks. Yaweh is currently working on his debut EP titled F the Rules. The project is scheduled for early 2019.

In February and March 2019 he toured with Post Malone in Europe, where he sang songs from his debut album Heart Full of Rage.
