Due to the popularity under their grip, many records label tend to forget about purpose and let ego have the best of them. Enmity, strife, discord, wrangling and controversy is then birthed among a once united family. That has never been the case with Mavin Records.

Sometime last year, it was heavily rumored that Korede Bello had left the label to form his own label. Many people had as proof that he changed his management from “Mavin” to “Caspertainment” (Check screenshot below). Also, some opinions had it that the talented singer was being ignored by Don Jazzy.

How did the boss respond to such rumors? He kept calm and kept supporting the artist. This year, Korede Bello has released two hit singles already and is still going. Even when fans of Mavin Records insinuated that Bello is Mavin’s worst investment, Don Jazzy bombarded their opinions.

An artist like Iyanya, who left the label abruptly, is still supported by the team. Each time he releases a song, it gets promoted on the Label’s social media pages. The same can be said of Reekado Banks, even though he has been dormant since his exit from the label.

Furthermore, when Tiwa Savage left Mavin Records for Universal Music Group, the boss reacted with kind and encouraging words.

All these examples are a lesson to other record labels. Problems are bound to occur but how you handle them is what really matters. Instead of going ballistic with each other and introducing law suits, amicable solutions are the best way to go.

Mavin Records believes in UNITY and PEACE and as such they stand by the slogan “Once a Mavin, Always a Mavin.” You can Imitate that.
